So I assume you're going to be running the 1200.1 @ 4 ohms?
I'd go with the first one...

2ohms for both

I would drop them in a ported box if i where you. I have 4 in a ported box im civic check ,y site out http://www.sounddomain.com/id/squosh
Doog you've got a nice setup dude.
Go with the first box, alpine recommends a 0.7-1.0 ft^3 box.. the second one will have a little bit too much space.

Thanks man, i like it. I have a .87 cubic feet per chamber box for 2 12's i will sell it for $40 shipped. I have a pic if interested. I also make boxes if you want to put them in a ported box

heh, we dont have any rebels around anymore that like to go outside the 'recommended size' anymoreOriginally posted by Jmac
Pfft, recommended size ...![]()
and btw, when you are going with sealed, having it 'too big' couldnt hurt it that bad at all.......

yea that peak response BS is why companies build bandpasses.....bleh.Originally posted by Jmac
Well, it could ... It does reduce power handling. But it sounds a lot better when you use a 1.3-1.8 ft^2/sub sealed box with the Type-Rs ...
By the by, companys usually recommend boxes that peak (****ing peaks) in the 40-60 Hz range. I'd much rather take a nice, flat response curve that has more low-end and a better transient response than peaky recommended crap ...

Hey WeDoog, I'm interested in getting a ported box for my 2 12" RE SE's. Resonant Engineering recommends 2 Cubic feet each sub tuned to 35 hertz. Would you think about making me a box?

right now.... its a little too much air space so i figured id screw some of my left over mdf flush along the inside of the back wall and seal it up to reduce the air space but.. if u think u could hook me up with about box thats better than that.. i might take u up on it

how much would you ask for that box 91lacdeville??
Also did you say you were going to run 2 12" alpine Type-R's on a JBL1200.1 at 2 ohms??? you do realize that is giving like 650 watts rms to each sub and the Type-r's have an rms of 300
