Just to warn you before hand.....this forum is abnormally pro ported....not that ported boxes are bad, I actully run one right now. You will gain spl in a ported box no doubt, personally (and I know many will argue) I think it comes at the sacrafice of sq.....ported boxes tend to run lower rumbling tones better, while sealed enclosures are a little more punchy, almost like midbass.....hope that helps.

i had an alpine type-r and liked its response in the sealed enclosure, 1.25 cuft. if the type-s is much like the type-r i say go sealed. how much power u gonna run to it?
