Re: determining box volume of an angled box

    you could
    1. google trapezoid volume formula
    2. try the12volt for their calc.
    3. break the trapezoid into rectangle and triangle volumes to get trap volume.

Re: determining box volume of an angled box

Length x average depth x height

    53L x 8D x 18H = 7632in^2

Take half of the sum of the top and bottom depth to find the average depth

    53, 8, 18... 8x18= 144... 144x52= 7632/ 2 (b/c it's a tri.) = 3816 in cubed.

Then you do 4x18x53= 3816+3816 + 7632... then divide that by 1728 (1 cubic foot) and you get
    4.42 cubes

You have to take into account wood thickness.

Read my edit. You forgot box to subtract wood thickness.
