1. ## determining box volume of an angled box

i still have no idea how to do this at all so say

my box is 53in long, 18inch tall, 4in top depth, 12in bottom depth what would that equal out to? and care to explain it?

2. ## Re: determining box volume of an angled box

you could
2. try the12volt for their calc.
3. break the trapezoid into rectangle and triangle volumes to get trap volume.

3. ## Re: determining box volume of an angled box

Length x average depth x height

53L x 8D x 18H = 7632in^2

Take half of the sum of the top and bottom depth to find the average depth

5. ## Re: determining box volume of an angled box

i already did i could only find area forumlas not any volume

6. ## Re: determining box volume of an angled box

53, 8, 18... 8x18= 144... 144x52= 7632/ 2 (b/c it's a tri.) = 3816 in cubed.

Then you do 4x18x53= 3816+3816 + 7632... then divide that by 1728 (1 cubic foot) and you get
4.42 cubes

Yea i dont think that is right at all.

Im pretty sure his box would be 3.2cubes

You have to take into account wood thickness.

Read my edit. You forgot box to subtract wood thickness.

Area times distance equals volume.
