    buying ported box's

i was just wondering if buying ported box's or any box for that matter is worth it. i have never bought a sub box in my life only made them.i have a ported box with a pioneer 10 and im not very satisfied by the way it sounds.the box is made absolutly perfect for the sub though perfect air space but i think it may be the possition of the port or the angle on it.the port is on the front right beside the sub. any help would be nice.

I try not to reccommed people buy pre-fab boxes. unless made by a good distributor (and even then I dont reccommend it) you just dont know how well it was made. Subs can create alot of pressure inside of that box and a poorly made one can ruin your sub and make your system sound like crap.
My advice, if you cant build it yourself, go to a local shop and get them to make one custom for you.
