    Re: cutting mdf

they do make different blades for different uses, i shop at home depot and i use the irwn blades, but they make them with different tooth counts ie. riping wood where you do not need a clean nice cut just cut the wood, but for mdf i enjoy a finer toothed blade for flawless cuts and the eaise of cuting thru the wood without burn

    Re: cutting mdf

I use a fine cut blade, since mdf is already pretty easy to cut through... leaves less "junk" on the cuts.

    Re: cutting mdf

Any general purpose blade should work fine. If I'm building a simple box I usually have Home Depot make the cuts for me on their saw. Saves me tons of time and clean up.

    Re: cutting mdf

On the smaller cuts, I just score the MDF with a file and give it a good amount of pressure on both sides... usually results in a nice, clean snap.

Elmer's stick glue is a great seam sealer and I hear it has like 1,000,000,000# of holding strength.

    Re: cutting mdf

I just use whatever random blade is in the table saw. Also, like it was mentioned, if you know what cuts you need to make, get home depot or lowes to make the cuts for you. Saves me a LOT of time.
