is it possible to make a box like this.



with the sub and port being on one slanted panel, then the other side slanted also so i could push it all the way to the seats from my trunk. im trying to find a way to fit my 15" BTL into my trunk and the height is kind of a problem because i only have about 16" to work with...therefor if the front was slanted id have a bigger front baffle to fit the sub...just an idea, let me know what you guys think.

You just gotta be accurate with the angle of the table saw when cutting. And then use some body filler afterwards if it's not perfect?

i just dont know how accurate tuning and stuff will be, or how the air will push and if it will make port noise or not u know?

It will work and the tuning will be fine as long as you take the correct cross sectional area and make sure to slant the inner port panel.

I don't see what the problem is with the 16" height though. You would perfectly fine mounting the sub on a 16" panel. The cutout diameter is only 14.125" which fits very nicely in the 14.5" you will have.

Just make sure the sub magnet won't hit the bottom of the box if trying to mount a 15" sub. If the port is on the angled side then measure from the middle of the port, top to bottom to get your depth. I've built a few like that with no issues. You could also slap an aeroport in it the box is deep enough...

thank guys...about the port tho, should the port only be as big as that picture, should it be deeper?...or should i L the port or keep it straight.

It would be difficult to keep things correct if you make an L port. The bend in the port would not only change area by width but by height as well. If you need it longer, I would consider either using circular ports or placing the port on the side of the enclosure.

The picture is just for reference and is not to scale. You need to calculate the correct length with the tuning frequency you want, enclosure volume you are shooting for, and the port area you need.
