    03 GTI... 4 10"s?

hey, my box builder hasn't gotten back to me yet but does anyone know if i'll have enough room for a vented enclosure for 4- 10" Kicker L7's. the hatch area is 39'' wide 23" deep and 20" tall and thats if you drop the box straight in from the back of the seats to the back of the hatch the back of the seats and from the back head rests to the floor and wall to wall. i'll see my designer tomorrow but i'm slightly impatient. Thx in advanced.

    Check this out..
It said 8.6 ft3^ after entering the size you gave us..
    2.2 each should be good..
So what to do with the amps?
    750watts each plus front stage..
I say use 3 & mount the amp rack under the box with fans & on a slide..

By the time you figure in port displacement and sub displacement and so forth, you're not gonna fit 4 ported in there. 3 might fit. 2 would be a comfortable fit with room left for amps.

    Re: 03 GTI... 4 10"s?

i would say no. you have to remember the little flange for the rear deck panel thing that comes out further than the side 'walls' of the trunk. also - the entire hatch is slightly angled, about 1~2" wider at the tailgate than the rear seat area.

so you will miss about 2" on each side of the enclosure to begin with. i would say to fit the amps, box, and subs, i would only go with a pair of 12's (with a large vented box to spec) at most. i have a pair of 15" IDQ's but they only require 1.5 cubes each sealed, prolly 4 cubes at most ported. and those are large boxes for this size trunk.

    not including amp space.

personally, i would say no you wont fit four 10" L7's in a proper enclosure in a vw gti.
