    simple question..

will the placement of my sub affect my sound output...like originally i was planning on having the sub mounted on the same side as the port..but if you look at how i have it sitting..if i it on the side with out the port..would it hurt me much?

which other side do you mean? the other shorty side? either way Id go with something similar to what evan drew for you, put it in there would be better, Im sure there are ppl on here who can tell you the best distance to put it away from the port opening but Im not sure myself

    Re: simple question..

I think he means that the front of the box (port side) is cutting it close to the height of the driver because he didnt place it on the outside of the sides...

    if that makes any sense.

Anyways I would say try it as recommended above and if it doesnt work out than rebuild the box and make the front piece taller by putting it on the outside of the sides.

    Re: simple question..

As long its 2 cubes after sub and port displacement I dont think it will make much difference either way. If its 2 cubes gross than I would recommend rebuilding it. And if you didnt already, you may want to add a little bracing to the enclosure.

    Re: simple question..

aaahhh i got it now, that ***** but like mokedaddy said, chalk it up to a learning experience, ive only built a few boxes and each time no matter how good i think the box will be there is always something I could of or should of done differently, so I rebuild them, it happens, good luck with it
