    can a port go here?

i have a bandpass box and am wondering if on the part of the box that opens to see inside i can put a port through instead of just having solid cover. here's a pic of the box

so you siliconed the **** out of the rest of the box (i looked at the pics) and then you just screw that in place? im assuming wood screws at dont hold for **** when they go in and out of mdf....right? my only point is that that box is most likley far from being sealed, why does it need to open? just port it and seal it like the rest.
