im pretty new to car audio so i have some questions

what is the reason that people install subs backwards????

many people play around with them to see how they like the best.....since sub bass is very close to 360 degree coverage, you can hear it pretty much however you install....it is also often more convienient in many cases.

not directly...ohm load (impredence) is resistance in the wire....in MOST cases amps are rated x watts @ 2 ohms.....when you go up to 4 ohms the amps output falls to x/2 watts, less power GENERALLY means less output, in theory the 2 ohm setup will be 2x as loud ( 3db increase) people note that there are exceptions, jl makes amps that have the same output between 1.5-4 ohms, in that case ohm load does not effect loudness.

basicly your comparing spl (sound performance level) to sq (sound quality)....generally a ported box will have a louder response (again usually about 3 db's, 2x as loud) ...a sealed box is generally more versital, and better suited for a more diverse listener who wants more quality, not that a ported box cannot sound great.

i used a lot of words like "generally", "usually"....these are all generalazations, and opinions, like everything in the car audio scene

ohm load affects how much power an amp will put out so in a way yes.....

ported are louder than sealed but sacrifice some sq....sealed have good sq but not as loud....
