why so high? this is for listning not competition, i mean i can expect 145 from this setup easy dont ya think.... look at my sig, all i gotta finish is the box and im set ;-)
i listen to alot of rap and anything with alot of bass, so i want the low notes to be loud, not high notes that ill only hear on a sound sweep. if im wrong let me know, but i think i need it ported around 33ish for that, right?

Ummm, that's not 100% SPL (100% SPL = Get this thing to hit the highest dB possible, competition style box).
So you basically want a daily driver box ... ? In that case, I would probably tune it a little lower like 25-30 Hz and as large as you canIt should provide a good medium between SPL and SQ and it won't allow your sub to bottom out on the low, low notes of Midwest and Dirty South hip-hop

I just realized that linearteam.org has a free version of winisd pro. I know its a test but it has way more features than the regular free version I was using. I just plugged in my XXX 12 into it. I like the results. 8ft^3 tuned to 51hz shows me peaking at 130.322db's at 51.96hz. This is on 1580 watts that the RE amp I'm getting is supposed to put out. **** I sure hope my dad lets me cut out the bed in my pickup truck. This is gonna be one hell of a loud 12! I also checked going with a bigger box(10ft^3) but it didn't make enough difference to bother with a bigger box. I'm about to go play with it now and see what it would do with a lil more power....:p
