    12" sub in a 12" H box? **** Noobx

I am not thinking clearly, but am trying to lay out the box/amp rack/ etc... for my install. I am thinking about putting the amp rack on top of the box to keep as much crgo space as possible. In order to do so, and keep everything flush with the rear trim (Tahoe), the box needs to be 12" H (sealed).

How close am I cutting it trying to mount a 12" sub in there?

    Won't work.

    95% of 12" subs are 12.5" in diameter.And most have an 11" cut-out.If it's only 12" high (external), it won't work.

If it's 12" high internally, it can work. But your top/bottom must be flush with the front panel, or you'll get air leaks.

The 12" is outside dimensions, so 10.5 internal. After typing that, I realize the sub needs an 11" cutout, and I need to come up with something else.

edit : MM beat me to it.

I thought about it, but I just got a call about some fan nodule add ons for the amps. I have been looking for those for about a month. Now I can put the amps under the back seat and have no problems. Something has finally gone my way today!

Thanks, if you had any idea the number of phone calls and emails I have sent trying to tack this **** down. I actually considered just selling them and going another route. Not now!
