Where does the sub go? D?W?H?

I'm building a box for a 10" Assassin that I will be ordering. The specs for the box (interior) is :

H: 10.64
W: 6.56
D: 17.24

I'm wondering where the hole for the sub should go? Does it matter?

Good deal. I'm putting the box in the spare tire well of my mustang and will have to turn it a few different ways to make it like I want it. Since I can put the sub on any side then my job will be easier. Thanks.
