Vented Dual 12" Box

I got the specs on a vented dual box for my 2 12" Alpine Type R's does anybody have any experience with vented boxes? Does a vented make that more of a difference than a sealed? Is it going to make a difference in my trunk? And should (if I decide to build it) have the box firing towards the rear of my trunck or the front of the car? Thanks

generally ported will significantly increase the output of your subs. I'm not sure about which way to fire it, I would test it and see...depending on what type of ports you are using(round, square or rectangle) and if they come out the same side of the box as the woofers are mounted to would determine which way to place the box in the trunk. I know with the solo baric vented boxes from kicker they show on their website to mount the sub firing towards the side of the trunk with the vent towards the rear.

the R's generaly dont like the ported boxes just to warn ya.

I just built my vented Type R box and got it together. Type R's can be vented but the measurements have to be exact and mine are cause I got them from an Alpine Dealer. ONE of these hits harder than 2 twelves no joke if you want the measurements on it I'll give them to you. Took about 2 days made it out of 3/4 inch MDF.
