Re: Sub cutout
you'll need a 9.1" diameter. 4.55" radius.

Re: Sub cutout
just becuase it is a 12" sub dont mean you'll need to make a sub cutout of 12". your sub will end up just sink in the hole.

Re: Sub cutout
like livinlife said a 12" sub doesn't need a 12" cut out. Easy way to flush mount subs is to use a double baffle. :)

radius is half diameter. So 9.1 / 2 = 4.55" :)

Radius is half the circle Diam. is the full distance accross the circle....

Re: Sub cutout
Yeah, the first cutout is for the sub to mount in then the second baffle needs to go around the sub so it needs to be 12 inches. I would go a little bigger than 12 though, maybe 13 or so. That way you can get it out easier and move it around once you drop it in. ;)

Re: Sub cutout
its easier to cut, i suppose, with the radius then diameter... just use a thin cardboard paper and make two points, 4.55" radius in between, and DRAW!

^Like he said . But I usually oversize by a 1/4" just so the sub doesn't fight me :)
