Box for 12" Mag progress (PICS!!!!!)

Here are a few pics from the newest box I'm helping bholtmeier make. As of now, we need to re-paint the port, sand down all sides to get rid of excess glue, cut out and mount terminal, caulk the top piece of mdf, carpet, and finally put his mag in a suitable box

The box is 15 x 28 x 13.5 and is about 2.0 cuft net
There is 27 sq in of port area
Tuned to 32hz

sorry about the quality on some of those pics, just doin the best I can with what I've got.

Looking good. (the box not you)

my one tip for you is this:

once the glue is applied and the wood is clamped together use a wet rag to wipe the glue off that squeezes out the joints. You can do the inside and outside of the box fairly easily and it cleans up perfectly. Then there is no need to sand the box.

make sure you post the finished product!

I can actually say i did do alot of the work on this box. matt martin is too frickin excited to get everything done, i left him without the top done and i see thats already done.....next box we make i'm doin it all i dont care if i have to wait the next day but i love the way it turned out, it actually looks better than those pics cuz of his ****** *** camera, ill get my canon tomorow and get some good ones...hell my phone takes better pics( other thread)

most of you probably know, i havent had this sub in a decent box yet. I've put it in 2cf sealed, sounded good but no output whatsoever, 2cf ported with just 12" port area, and another box with 21 inches of port area but with cancelation issues, port firing up, sub out......so, tomorrow will be the day when i hear what all the hype of this sub is about, cuz i haven't heard anythin impressive from it yet.

I look forward to hearing what you think. I came very close to buying a 15" MAG D2 and at the last minute bought a RL-p 15" D2 instead. I keep wondering what I missed out on though.

id also like to know how u like it. i was looking into a mag, rlp or sx and ended up with an ava. wish i had money to play with them all. lets hear your thoughts

Got 'er installed today. I'm very impressed. I never thought I'd hear that amount of output from a single twelve in my life. The very low lows(guessing 25-35hz) are lacking just a tad. I say lacking, just because it doesn't get as loud as the peak. (Would a tuning at 32hz be the culpret?) Don't get me wrong, the lows still wang. The response curve is amazing. Most rap songs are unbelievable.

Quiet you. I bought that cam for 20 bucks. What would you expect?

We got in a hurry and for some known reason didn't around to wiping off that glue, as easy as that sounds. lol. About pics of the final product, hopefully bholtmeier will get those on here ASAP. The only thing we're missing now is carpet.

I'd have to agree, it's pretty good for a single 12....still not am totally happy with it, but with one sub, man you can't ask much more.....2 of those would do it....But i'd never be able to get 2 of those in a camaro..i'm gonna go take some pics here in a bit will post shortly

You think the Hifonics is limiting performance?

I hear they are efficient subs, but they are underrated some at ~900 watts correct? And that Hifonics amp is overrated, so Id figure 750-850 actual. My Mag is the older model and its on an Orion 1200D, but Im sure it could take more.
