I was wondering what would happen if you took the plexiglass of a bandpass box?

i have no idea, but it probably wont do any good. it would seem like a sealed box with big holes/ports in it.

it would be a small ported box with short ports. probably sound a lot worse than before.

Yeah...instead of being a bandpass enclosure (one sealed chamber, one ported chamber), you could turn it into a very poorly tuned regular ol' ported enclosure.
for a really makeshift enclosure you might like better than the bandpass, take them ports out there barley glued in, and put a piece of wood to make it a seled box. then take the plexi off. We did that on ym friends car
