What type of home speaker box should I build?

Hi guys, I'm making a small sub for use with my computer speakers and I need opinions on how I should build the box. I can do one of two things

1.make a triangular box that would fit into a 90 degree corner

    or

    2.make the vanilla rectangular box

I know that the triangular box is an inefficient use of wood, but I'm willing to do the extra work and waste wood to have some fun with this project. I'm only using 2 8 inch woofers anyway.
    Which one?

Go for the triangular one. Its different.

Although I don't know how it will perform acoustically versus the common rectangular box the triangular one will definetly have a bigger "wow" factor.

Wood is pretty cheap anyways. So efficiency doesn't really matter does it?

No, price doesn't matter, but the actual size of the thing required to get the volume I want is much greater than that of an equal rectangular box. I did the measurements and the front face would have to be around 30"X40" for 2 koda 8s

Bingo. If you're going to stray from the norm, you might as well either build a cylinder, a sphere or a cube. All have better acoustical characteristics. The pyramid is a 100% waste of wood.

The only information I've ever seen about the acoustic performance of an enclosure is to avoid parallel surfaces, and use stiff, acoustically dead building material.

If you guys didn't know, Klipsch made speakers called the K-horns with a triangular design with the purpose of corner loading in a room. Them horns were around 6K retail 45 years ago and are legendary. I doubt acoustic performance is going to be a problem with a triangular box, but yes, it is a complete waste of wood.

Well, would you mind pointing me to some literature that says more on the subject.

Go on PE and search Loudspeaker Design Cookbook, Loudspeaker Recipes or the Loudspeaker Handbook (out of print).
