1 Sealed 1 Ported

Would it be dumb to have two of the same subs and have one ported and one sealed?

I'm looking for SQL and don't have a lot of room to work with. The subs are 8" Kicker Comps (not VR)

I guess I should have said that my current install is both 8s in a shared chamber 1cube and it doesn't quite have the volume I'm looking for.

if you made one sealed and one ported i am assuing there would be cancelation of some sort which is not good i.e. probably less output then you allready have. If you want SQL maked a ported box and tune that ish low

you know, as stupid as this idea sounds, i will have to admit, i was thinking the exact same thing the other day. i wasnt really gonna do it, i was just curious what it would sound like, whether or not their would be cancellation or not. hmmm...anyone ever tried it before?

Would there be any problem sharing the chamber with a ported box? If I remake my box/es I'm going to try with some fiberglass so I don't want to have to make two boxes with fiberglass and try to port them both the same correctly
