    Icon30 Question On Thickness

Hey guys. well let me explain my setup. i have a kicker 10" l7 at 600rms. i wanna mount it in my expedition front console. its around 12" wide and the length wouldnt matter because i can always enlarge the console length. anyways, would i be fine with 1/2" mdf or 3/4". also what size plexi should i mount on top of the box, since i will make the sub downfiring. i figure the hole of the console on top is 10" by 13". thanks guys

Go with 3/4" MDF. As for the plexi I think 1/2" would be alright, but dont take my word for it.

    Re: Question On Thickness

1/2" MDF should not be a problem at all. specially using panels that are within 13" in length. if you do get any flexing it will be minimal. you can always brace it.

for the price difference go with 3/4" better safe than sorry. as for plexi if you take your time cutting and run a torch over the cut afterwards(fast or it will turn black and melt), no need to sand
