    Ported Box Tuning

Anyone know how I would go about tuning a 3.04 cuft box w/ 2 4" ports to 36Hz?

The sub is going to be an inverted Focal Utopia 38 WX.

    Remember, TWO 4" Ports.

Anyone that can give me an exact length will be my hero for life

3.04cuft does not include the port volume deducted.

Wouldn't you rather learn to do it yourself?

I have calculated the 3.04cuft box to have TWO 4" Ports that are 12", 11.91" to be exact...

Anyone that knows what they are talking about that can confirm this for me?

    Re: Ported Box Tuning

This is no good... What does 38.5hz sound like? Its a SQ sub... See the manufacturer tells you that in a 2.85cuft box to tune it to 40hz, and in a 100Litre, which is somewhere around 3.2cuft to tune to 36hz.... so would I be safe doing this 3.04cuft box at 38-39hz??

I also know it sounds funny as a SQ sub thats ported and takes 450W RMS... But tell Focal that... hahah.. Im just doing this for a buddy of mine.

    Re: Ported Box Tuning

Well this is his 1/2 assed discription of how he wants it to sound...

He doesnt want PUNCH, he wants more of a rumble... And he would like all kinds of music to sound good, but mainly rap/techno....

    He's a weird fella. Hahaha...

It is a 15" sub also.
