im about to build my first box and can i use 1/2" boards instead of 3/4"

What size box, how many subs, what subs?

If you use enough bracing, and do it properly, you shouldnt have a problem.

Why cant you use 3/4"?

well i have some 1/2" laying around
the demensoins for the box is 30"w x 11"h x 6.5"d

if so, then no.

bracing is just glueing pillars (so to say) of mdf in your box to keep the box from fleixing. you have to take into account the dispacement too theres other kindsa bracing also.

Go out and get a 4' x 8' sheet of 3/4" MDF for like $10.

yea we tried to be cheap about it and used plywood for a box for a fbx 15 and within 5 minutes of playin the box fell apart, spend some money and get mdf you'll be happier with the look in the end

and around here a 4 x8 sheet os 3/4 is like 25 bucks
