    First Box Check it out...

ok, this will be my first system and i just wanted to know if these box dimentions seem OK to you guys.

The sub is a 12" L7 and the Amp is a hifonics BX1205D. its a dual 4 ohm so itll recieve 900RMS, so the hifonics people say.

Kicker people say ~2.5 cubes plus port, heres what i got (im working in a chevy blazer but this is what i have (using 3/4 MDF)

    total volume 2.818 cubes
height 14.75 in Length 36.5 in Width 12 in
port 13.25x2.5x16.5 (Have to be an L port i guess.
Internal volume w/o port then is 2.48 cubes

Sound good, please let me know if you thing anything is amiss..

    Thanks

    Alex

    sorry, those are external measurements.

edit: should i just use the specified kicker specs on the manual...?

its similar but its got a port on the side rather than the front...

    Re: First Box Please Help

according to my kicker manual you can build 3 spec boxes. Your numbers look like the "Street Bass" setup. I recently made a box for my solo barics which are L5 but have the same box specs as the L7 and i did 5.4cubes which is about 2.7 cubes each at 32hz. according to the book that came with the subs it can be as high as 3.5cubes each sub or as low as 1.75 cubes for thier spec boxes.

ok, well the specs are just 14 3/4 x 14 3/4 x 30 external... should i just use those or mine. The specs on the streetbass on the kicker one, kis 2.5 before vent and sub and tuned to 38hz. Should i lower that a little or is 38 OK for some rap but mainly rock and stuff.
