name brand or generic double din dash unit?

hi all looking to buy a dvd/gps.blu tooth double din unit for my wifes 2007 ford edge. my question is is it better to buy name brand or generic i see there is at least a $250 diffrence and i see the generic has a name brand processor. i dont know much about car video so any opinions would be much appreciated so i can get her to stop nagging thanks

get the clarion nx501 off ebay for 600 with warranty and call it a day

clarions if its the 7" won t fit some dashes without cutting.. I had a few generics at the house here.. i sold em but they looked ****... just dont get a **** flipout.. lol

lol.. ya clarion are tops for screens imo if you want to go with a higher end

well im looking for the best bang for the buck i dont want to get something thats going to break in 6months. a buddy of mine who is an engineer for cisco said i should check into generic because like house hold flat panel tv's almost all get the same screen from the same company and put there name on it. so thought i would ask you all on here
