laptop in cars playing Mp3z. Begginer Please Help

Ok, im in the comptuer business and i have a laptop. But im really into my car and i have a whole stereo system wit da subs and everything. But im sick of changing the cds and burning cd's
I want to connect my computer to the car and somehow connect it to the HU so i can get the car speakers to work with it.
I know i need the power invertor for the power of the laptop.
My laptop obviously has a speaker or headphone connection?
so is there a cable that goes from computer speaker jack to the HU or asomething.
My HU has the RED and WHITE RCA connection, but one pair which my ext. amp is connected to.
If anybody can help that would be great..

does your deck have an auxillary input?? would look like a mini jack most of the time..

Well its a JVC El Kameleon.
It has one pair of Red and Black RCA that goes to the amp.
i dont know what an auxillary input is.

it'll look the same as your headphone jack for your laptop... a minijack input usually...

Kenwood has a MP3 "music-box"; I don't know what they call it, but it stores thousands of MP3's and other music files. My cousin has one, and from what i know you organize your music files, and download them into a cartridge like device that you plug into the "music box". The "box" is about as large as a small amplifier, and he had his mounted underneath the drivers seat. Check Kenwood’s website, and you may be able to find information there (i think it's only compatible with a keenwood receiver, so.....).

Yeah; i also would like to have all my music available at once. I did have Pioneer's 50-disc cd-changer, but it broke three of my cd's, and scratched a few (they started to skip), so i threw it away.

I don't know if there’s a way to hook up your lap-top, but my cousin did use his for his 94 MR2 to adjust "mechanisms", and tune other things. If you've ever seen The Fast and the Furious then you may know what i mean (hint: laptop in the RX-7--i think?).

Kenwood's product is the Music Keg... the Laptop was in the Eclipse and it was an engine and fuel management system, not a stereo.
Basically, what midel number is your deck. the short answer is this - not all head units allow for an external source (such as a laptop) to be plugged in and run via its signal path. Give us the model number, and we can check for you if your particular head unit does or doees not fall into that category.

if it doesn't or can't accept an auxillary input you could always use an fm modulator with a little loss in quality

If all else fails, get a Y- adapter from wal mart or radio shack that converts a headphone jack to rca's and get an fm modulator. I dont know how those things work but i would think that you would lose your radio?

but the older version, mine is completely screen with no jog dial.

Does the brand of the fm modulator matter and would you really be able to tell the difference of the osund quality.
yea i was thinking of something like a mp3 player wit an HD, but i guess the keg connects to the back of the HU just like a cd changer.
Price is really high though

No. It wouldnt even play. The RCA's in the back of your HU are output. I would think that the only input would be your antenna, which is where a fm modulator comes in handy. You can get them on ebay for cheap. Your only other option would be to get one of those wireless things that plugs into a headphone jack and broadcasts it over a radio station. I would think the laptop idea would be a pain in the *** to use while you are driving however. If I were you, I would get a new HU that plays mp3 cd's (Pioneer Premier 550MP is a good quality low price one. go to www.thezeb.com and pricematch www.ikesound.com because they are arthorized dealers) and make data cd's with 700 mb of mp3s on each. Thats what I do. Just make 2 or 3 disks if you have a lot of mp3s and dedicate each disk by genre. It would sound much better

don't go with a wireless fm modulator, they ****. Just get a normal one that has a ring that goes on to the antenna that plugs into the hu, it really doens't sound bad at all, my cd changer worked that way and was fine, especially because mp3s lose some quality anyway.

well, thanks for the help guys.
i got basically narrowed down to either the fm moduolator which costs like $20 or getting a new cd player that has input or plays mp3 or just has the mini headphone jack.

buy the FM...20 bucks, what's 20 bucks??
if you aren't satisfied, then work towards a new deck...
