Is it worth while to get an extended warranty on an alarm?

I'm going out to buy an Alpine SEC-100S alarm for my Jeep, and I'm wondering if I need to get the warranty. Do alarms stop functioning if used to often? The warranty is about $50 extra, so I'm not too sure I need it.

I firmly believe in gettin extended warrenties....all my equipment have them.

Why you pick Alpine alarm......there are lots better then Alpine alarms.....Viper, DEI, Clifford, etc.....

Trust me....choose a different alarm than Alpine....

I usually get extended warranties on electronics, mainly because if the units breaks most places will replace it with the new model, definitely a plus. But for an alarm I'm not quite sure they would do that. They would probably just replace the broken part. If you get a crimestopper alarm they have a lifetime warranty. There may be other brands that also offer this benefit.
