    long range car alarms

I am going to be going to a very large university soon and plan on upgrading my existing car alarm. All I want is a 2 way with the longest range possible and I will add back-up batteries and a proximity later. What do you all recommend for 2 ways with lots of range.

the Viper 791xv has a decent range. But what you gonna do when you are 1/2 mile away and your remote is buzzing? By the time you get there it will be too late?

    Re: long range car alarms

I plan on having 5 sirens total. 1 outside like normal with the horn honk and then 2 piezo's inside that hurt your ears and 2 regualr sirens inside. They will have a battery back up inside somewhere and one for outside. I will also have a prox sensor, tilt sensor, glass break sensor, and the wire cut sensor for my tail lights.

Idea being if alarm goes off it sounds like a normal one until they open the door and then the other sirens become clearly audible not to mention I shouldn't be more then .5 miles away from my vehicle so they are going to have an angry guy hauling *** towards them I was looking at the 5900 and it seems to have the best range. Even with the size of the campus I will be attending I shouldn't be more then .5 miles away regardless.

Can anyone think of something that beats the 5900 in range?

Longest range possible is DEI SST.

I just got my 50.5X and it's great. The Viper 5900 and Python 990 are the SST models.

Maybe on paper they do but don't expect anything near that in the real world...
