Good tips to not get my system stolen?

MY old system got stolen infront of my house and so i now park in the garage. Im in HS (1 year left) and i hear tons of people that get there stuff stolen. I have a big Mercury Mountaineer, so it is very easy to break into it. I dont really want to put a lot of money into security (if any) because i need to save for college. What are some tips that you can give me to not get my stuff stolen? Im not going to bump it or tell any one at school, and my windows arent tinted so you can just see right in them.

blot ur sub down...use unusual screws..most ppl that jack **** carry a phillips or a str8 screw driver..

i have mine securely fiberglassed behind my seats so if sum1 wants it they gotta be there 4 a pretty long time

yea, it ***** having an suv cuz all they gotta do is break the window and they can prety much take everything in there. If i would bolt it down, how hard would it be to get out? Also, would it mess up the car at all?

Just make sure you dont go into anything under the car. Check to see if theres anything there first, and if not, it should be fine.

So I think ill bolt it down. It also might be worth it to tint my windows so no 1 can see in. What are your guys opinions on tinting windows for car security? Because if you tint they cant see in, but also if its tinted, means you usually have something to protect :/

you need an alarm! i prefer selling and using 2way alarms. if you want decent reliability and cheaper than a Viper with all the same features i would do a Crimestopper 2000-TW2, add in a glass brakage sensor(this is a major thing) the glass breakage senses high pitched sound. an alarm with just a basic shock sensor will not go off if someone breaks your window with a pellet gun or sparkplug. then if you have wheels you can get a digital tilt sensor. need anymore help PM me

I just have a huge freaking box that requires at least 2 people to take out, and even than it's a pain because of angles

I live in Vegas too and have never lost a system, just concious about where I play it loud mainly. That and if they did attempt to steal it the box in my car is something like 4 cubes (all that wood and a XXX also makes it super heavy) and a real pita for me to get out of the trunk even with a buddy helping me.

tinting your windows would definately be top on my list, it doesn't necessarily show that you have something to protect. it's mostly done to help reflect the heat in the summer time and help keep your car cooler, and also to help with not fading out your interior.

Well which would probably be better, an alaram or tinting? An alarm seems good, but if im out of range than it makes it kind of useless.
