Are These Install Prices Bizzare?
So I called a local shop around here who does stereos/alarms/customizing/etc...
They carry Viper and Ungo ... the prices for the Viper 791 are...
Viper 791 Kit: $399
Viper 791 INSTALLED: $500
Viper 791 w/ Remote Start INSTALLED: $800
I see around the internet the kit is no more than $200 + shipping ..... what do you guys think?
Also, what do you think about Best Buy installations? Or maybe Fry's Electronics...
Any good recommendations around the Las Vegas area (nearest "big" city to me)?

Re: Are These Install Prices Bizzare?
Not to mention, I said I would want a backup battery and some other installed...and he said
"Backup Battery? What is that?"
Re: Are These Install Prices Bizzare?
If he asid "backup battery? what is that?" Dont use him. Fry's shouldnt be too bad. Pick it up online, and if Fry's is an authorized retailer, they should charge you around 150-200 to install it with all your goodies. At least a local shop is diong it for 150 for me.
Right now I have glass break sensor, backup battery, two extra mini piezo sirens, and I'm getting the tilt sensor and the windows module.
800 is outrageous man, no way in hell I'd pay it.
Re: Are These Install Prices Bizzare?
What kind of car do you have? no matter what 800 is crazy.
Re: Are These Install Prices Bizzare?
not too crazy, my 791xv install cost me $550 for the alarm and $150 for install at Big Apple Music in Watertown NY. if the warranty isn't a worry to ya and your're good with wiring, you can save alot by just getting the system and putting it in yourself...
Re: Are These Install Prices Bizzare?
My Viper install (with remote start, no back-up battery or extra sensors) cost $250, that was pretty much the standard for the shops around me. So I paid $215 for Viper on eBay and $250 for install, definitely cheaper than $800
Re: Are These Install Prices Bizzare?
Ive been quoted about $150 at local shops, $200 at Best Buy.
Re: Are These Install Prices Bizzare?
$800 installed? i realize **** here is prolly a lil cheaper than in AZ, but not that much cheaper ;).
Re: Are These Install Prices Bizzare?
Hmm yeah its goin on a 2006 Jetta .... I realize it may be a bit harder than other cars considering its pretty new and not the regular like ford/chevy cars.... but then again, this shop didn't know what a backup battery was so I think I'm goin to find another shop.
When looking for the extra goodies like backup batt, extra sirens, motion sensory, tilt sensory, etc.... are they made specifically for the Viper alarms? Or any siren/sensor/etc. I find will be able to hook up to the alarm?
