What's up with my automatic seatbelt?
I have a 95 Escort and it has the automatic seatbelts which slide everytime you open the door that way you never have to click them in.
And on the passenger side it works fine but on the drivers side it moves a little then stops and makes some noise.
The noise is like it's trying to do slide all the way, but something's stopping it.
Anybody have any ideas? Ill post a video of what it does tomorrow AM

I am guessing that the gears in the motor that pulls it along are stripping. Thus it will move a bit then stop.

17 year old, first car :/
A guy that works for my dad is though.
I gave it another chek, the belt doesn't move at all, it just makes a noise like it wants to but something is stopping it

Ugh I hate those type of belts
Re: What's up with my automatic seatbelt?
how lazy can you get? lol automatic seatbelts make me laugh.
Re: What's up with my automatic seatbelt?
hit it with a hammer while its trying to move. Not like your going to break it any more. Might as well see if its just binding.

Re: What's up with my automatic seatbelt?
Hitting it with a hammer didnt help
Re: What's up with my automatic seatbelt?
I'd bet an Escort forum would be a looot more help.
But that'd just make too much sense, right?
Re: What's up with my automatic seatbelt?
Be sure to check your fuses, some of those seatbelts had two motors. Could be worth a look
