Doesn't it kind of **** that there are no material that's cheap, lightweight and strong? My car chugs more gas now too and is slower. Also I think I'm going to break my factory rear air-ride soon

2000 mountaineer- no audio equipment right around 16mpg'
When I had 4 15''s, triple faced box, 6 NSB 125's etc I was getting about 11mpg
91 jetta 1.8 8v losing about 2-3mpg with the extra 500 pounds or so
I have a 06 impala got ****** mpg before system (heavy foot) get about the same cause weight hurts handling..... lol gettin worse adding 180 lbs of batts and wires soon
what car do you have and what system? it takes alot to break an air ride system
i lost about 5-6 with my rims and wall of 18s
I drive a 1998 Deville with the Northstar V8, it has 163K miles... my system isn't as heavy as you guys but two 1000 watt Recoil amps, two 12" reconed Eclipse Titaniums in a 65 lbs slot port box, a Cadence 4 channel amp and an extra battery all in the trunk feels like a few bodies.
I live in a small town so I can doodle around slowly, if I drive like a grandma I can average 22mpg in the summer and like 15 in the winter with the system. Don't think I'll get anywhere near that figure if I live in Chicago or somewhere where traffic is much faster and demanding.
Use Critical Mass neo speakers and subs ...and use birch boxes and you won't notice any difference in MPG
6mpg loss, thats after the 2nd alt and the 700lb sub enclosure
