    I need new tires...advice?

I've never bought tires before but every time it rains I nearly wreck my car because it skids everywhere It's an 04 Hyundai Accent so the tires are fairly small to begin with, and the treads are pretty worn down. I have no idea what to even look for or where to go. My dad bought tires for my first car when I was like 17 but he got em from Walmart. I don't want junk tires but I don't need really expensive ones either. I just need some that will handle well in the rain/snow. Any advice?

    http://www.discounttiredirect.com/di...w=false&cs=175

    you have 13" tires currently?

i suggest ordering from discount tire direct, great company, you can get tire replacement warrantys for the tires for like 15 each extra per tire, its for like 3 yrs. one of mine blew out and they shipped out a new tire no questions asked.

free shipping and they're pretty quick too. just search your year and make/model and find a tire you like/can afford.

I'd prefer to buy local so I don't have to go through the hassle of having them shipped to me, then pay someone else to put them on.

Actually...I have a Discount Tire store near me

So I could still buy from them, but actually in the store.

They've got a set of Michelin tires that are rated "best" for my car. 55$ each, but then theres a 70$ mail in rebate when you buy 4, so I would get 4 for 150$ plus tax. Not a bad deal

Hehe, it's because my tires are like the size of tractor tires.

These are the ones I was talking about:

$50 a tire, holy crap, I started out paying about $125 per. Must be nice (I have always had low-profile tires).

My last set of tires were Yokohama's and they were almost $200 a piece, but they were definitely worth their price in gold as far as traction and handling goes.

My Maxima is bone stock, she needs some serious attention...

What sounds good to you, may sound like crap to me...

    Re: I need new tires...advice?

I think I'm going to go with the Michelin tires. That rebate expires in 2 days, so if I hurry I can get a set of ($55 each) tires for only $37.50 each, and they have pretty good reviews
