How dark to tint windows?

Looking to tint my windows but need some advice on how dark to go as this will be the first vehicle I've ever tinted...The laws in my state suck because they don't allow ANY tint except for a 4-6" strip at the top of the front/frontside windows. The rear is any %.

So actually if you guys have pics of your rides post em up with what % you have on em. Right now I'm thinking 35% all around since I have completely black interior so the car already looks dark on the inside and I don't want to be anymore of a target for the cops than I already am...

Have u checked your tint law lately. What state u in. I wouldn't go below 35 on driver window unless u want to be harrased. Again it depends on what state

Any tint I do on the sides or front is going to be technically illegal.

might as well just get 35%... but then again i live in NY and that's the darkest you can go legally... i have 20% all around my jeep and it's nice because you can't really see in during the day and definitely not at night. 35% is still pretty dark during the day, and black at night.

wow. Any tint? That's fucking oppressive. The law in IL is 35% all the way around, but I'm getting tinted today and having 20% put on, lol. My tint guy says they really don't mees with people here unless its really dark up front. idk what i'd do in your situation... maybe 35% all around.

x2. cops don't bother people here with 20% (for the most part) and certainly not 35% because, well, it's legal. once you get down to like 5% that's when you're gonna be making some new cop friends.

Yup in Michigan the windshield and front side windows are limited to only the top 4" nothing else...but that's not going to stop me :P

I like mine at 20%

Unfortunately the police around here don't.

Minnesota is 50% on fronts and anything % behind the B pillar

With my OEM window shades up in back it looks like 5%

I get pulled about twice a year when they see me with my front windows rolled up.

I have Sand Beige interior too. Notice how you can see a bit more of the cluster through the fronts W/20 %
But wit the shades on the rear windows you cant even see the back of the light beige driver sear.

I have 5% all around on my car and truck. Never had any issues with cops.

I got stoped the other day for 35 on front 5 on back they changed laws in my town now if ur darker than 35 in rear none is allowed up front

in md 35% is the legal but i have 20% to match the factory 20% in the back keeps it nice and cool in side during the summer

With a black interior you'd be fine @ 35%, if it was tan or light gray I'd tell ya to go 20%. Imho 5% is just silly and serves zero purpose except for looks and is dangerous while backing up or night time driving. I for one will never do that again (Not that you were even considering it).

do 2 layers of 2.5%.

I've got 15% on my front windows and rear triangles and I'm pretty sure it's 5% on the rear windshield. I had to install a backup can with infrared LEDs just to back up at night so I wouldn't recommend going that dark.
