How dark to tint windows?

Depending on where you live, you may be able to get a medical exemption from an Optometrist for window tint. Some states are as easy as "my eyes are sensitive to sunlight", while others you will need a more serious skin disease.

wow. Any tint? That's fucking oppressive. The law in IL is 35% all the way around, but I'm getting tinted today and having 20% put on, lol. My tint guy says they really don't mees with people here unless its really dark up front. idk what i'd do in your situation... maybe 35% all around.

Yep here in IL if they can see a difference from the front sides to the back sides they dont really mess with you. BUT I have seen sooooooo many vehicles both new and old with 5% all round....

5 percent or nothing!! Ive had it for 5 years in NYC and never a tint ticket plus with multiple drives to Canada and upstate NY

lowest i'll go is 20% on an SUV, if i owned a car or a wagon i wouldn't throw any tint on at all personally.

Same. I like being able to see out my window at night. My old truck had 15% in the rear, it was great during the day, but it was a joke at night.

its not hard at all. ive been driving with 2 percent tinted windows since summer of 2008. never had a problem whatsoever. yeah reversing is no big deal unless your in a really tight space, but that's where the beauty of a rearview camera comes in

I like 5% but I agree, it sure is dark to see out of! Especially and night AND when its raining - its like it gets more darker or something lol. I dont think I am go any lower than my current 15% on front sides

Use to have 35% on the front sides and its almost pointless on sunny days - might as well just have nothing if you gonna go 35% or more...

In Florida 5 and 15 percent ate nice that's why one car has 5 and one 15. If I still lived in ny id prob only use 35 percent

I got stoped the other day for 35 on front 5 on back they changed laws in my town now if ur darker than 35 in rear none is allowed up front

It's been that way since 11'. You can have 35 up front but it all has to be 35, can't go darker in the rear. Don't go to Chicago, they have different laws regarding tint and will even ticket you while parked.

It's hard for me. I don't care for rearview cameras, I like being able to see for myself. Glad it works for you though!

I have a black car with a black interior, and i have 5% all around, including the windshield. cant see ****, but never drive it anyway so dont care.
