you pay them so YOU dont screw it up, it looks horrible if u get any air in it. then u gotta pay them to take it off

In order to get a decent tint job you need to remove the window and make sure your seals are still good. The problem with doing the job yourself is one you may lack the proper tools for this process and secondly you may lack the chemicals used to treat and adhere the tint the the window. I feel that tinting is something that should be done by a professional unless you have the facilities to do it. Nothing is worse then seeing a car with bubbled tint. If you decide to tackle the project, be sure you know what your doing. I had the back three windows of my '77 Bronco done, They did a chrome primary tint with a limo in back of it so no praying eyes could see the two W7s in the back.

i've tinted quite a few windows, actually. Much cheaper, so long as you have the right tools (a no brainer, though).

dissassemble door trim
Spray diluted dishwashing liquid onto window
remove protective sheet from tint (to expose sticky surface)
spray a bit of the liquid onto the sticky surface
apply whole sheet to window
Use a flat rubber ruler (or anything semi hard, just so that it won't scratch the tint.. the kits here, people provide together with the set) and squeeze out all air bubbles
leave to dry for at least a whole day.

i tinted my own windows, the only problem was that my windows have a curve to them so there ended up being some small lines in the tint on the bottom, for a few lines on my window that are hard to see, i would rather save the 300$

That's strange. I've got quite a lot of glass windows on my minivan. There are curves and stuff, but none of them have lines that you talk of. What you need to do is to get more soap on the glass, and get a very good plastic ruler to squeeze the soap out between the tint and glass.

i used a little squeegee like it said and i put in tons of the solution stuff for it, but there was lines with air in them from the window being curved. i dont know maybe my windows are a little more curved than yours or somethin...
