wanna make your car go faster?

cold intake will add maybe 3~5hp...
exhaust system, etc,etc... so many options.. gotta mention costs man, else you could just drop in a turbo and you'll be flying, my friend....

for instantaneous boost without all the fuss... get octane boosters and drop it in your petrol tank... if they recommend 2, drop in 3~4... you'll see what I mean by instantaneous boost... it's very effective if you get the right octane boosters, but if you've got a bit more cash than that, get racing fuel... flourescent green stuff..very expensive, and pikes peak cars use it... apparently, it gives their 500hp engines an additional 100+hp increase.. I doubt we'll be seeing that in streetcars though...

Oh, and your engine will noto handle such high temperatures for very long, so be aware...

I should start putting 92 octane in my truck. But i'm cheap so i don't see that happening until i have a job. Do you see any performance gains by using 92 over 87?

    erm, no....

is 92 the highest you can get at petrol pumps in the US? Malaysian pumps, where I used to live, has 92 as regular, 102 as premium, and 108 for supercars (yes, a shitload of them are in M'sia, you can catch ferraris, lambo and aston martins filling up on those pumps often)... and they sell racing fuel in drums..118 and over... so, 92 over 87, if your car is a heap of junk, yes, you might see a bit of a difference...but I suggest octane over 100 to feel something happening... I guess octane booster pills can add about 5degrees or something... don't go popping 10 in though, your pistons will melt...

92's the highest we can buy at any gas station. I'm sure at a few spots they'll sell some higher stuff. But i've been using 86 the whole time, just wondered if 92 would make a difference.

octane pills can be obtained in many places the last time I looked in Korea...

I've friends over in US who uses them time to time... you could get them at car accessory shops or soemthing...

the pills will last you the tankload... the pills dissolve into potent flammable stuff...

but as I siad, be careful of that stuff, it could ruin your motor, and one look at the burtn gaskets and pistons is a tell-tale sign of what you were trying to do to the car and void your warranty...

take it easy on how many you drop in... your engine can only produce so many ponies...

Well, no worries about a warranty, my truck's 13 years old. Plus there are part on it from 5 different trucks so i don't think there would be a warranty anyways. I'll check out Pep Boys and Auto Zone, etc. Then i'll hit White's Pit Stop and see if they got em. I'll be careful too, even if i do blow the engine that means one thing......350!!

Premium gas or octane 92 usually is better on older and performance cars. I only use 94 at a local gas station. I notice a difference between putting in 94 and putting in 87. My car runs slow and putters with 87 and 94 runs smooth and steady. I throw in an octance boost every 6 months or so. Helps the ride out even though its nothin great. I'd rather pay a lil more at the pump each time then a big *** mechanics bill later on.

yup, less carbon deposits with higher octane fuel... the higher the octane, the better it burns... rocket fuel...mmmm, me likes....they burn at an incredible intensity...

if your engine runs on carbs, then you can't use pipes, the filter has to be directly on top of it...

if it's fuel injection, then it probably has an air sensor linked to it, and that means you would need to do some sort of modification to it.
