dont do reverse, its the cheap/unsafe way out. people have known this for ages. when u slam on the brakes, it reverses everything i believe. forward is the way to go. why is it you dont see reverse fours on stock or high performance cars?? its unsafe. ever seen someone go 40 or so with a reverse and slam on brakes?? spinning or locking up, just not cool. go forward or parrallel. hell id even go wishbone, u get the same effect and it looks cooler IMO, i love wishbone 3's and will have one on whatever i build.

    Re: Bigrick31's Sick New Project

that top one i believe is a VW Kharman Ghia....it is a true cantiliever setup, when you read about "reverse cantilievers" in the mini truckin scene, is generally talking about a reverse 4 link with the bag on bars, which is truly a "leverage" setup. not a cantiliever setup. I cant even follow that canti setup hardly, but too me it looks as though that is the frotn suspension of a ghia.. A-arms or whatever u can see, thats really just technical front setup

    Re: Bigrick31's Sick New Project

the bottom picture (believe its the pink frontier featured in mini truckin this month) is a wishbone three link. i would honestly (if u want the rear over or behind axle) would keep the pete and jakes 4 link, they are top notch links. if u want on bars, get an SD "canti" wishbone. works just like a bag on bar 4 link. bottom bars parrallel with frame and a torsion style top bracket coming off the frame at a given point (how much lift u want is what places the bag where it should be) and welded on the frame side. if the frame is pre-boxed (your doing a backhalf so im guessing it will be a conventional + stock floor BD, just cut a slit in the frame big enuff to slide the plate in (middle of the frame height) and weld the bottom of it in place, then set the gussets on, and weld them up and finish the whole deal for those. thats how im going to attack mine anyways.

    Re: Bigrick31's Sick New Project

So in order to keep the stock hood on my body droped 720 i would need to put in a side draft carb. i did some research and found i could run a dual side carb setup. i figured that would be pretty awesome but i was looking on line and i found this post
    Taken from streetsourcemag.com

"dual carbs are nice, but it would be just as expensive to run ITB's from a sportbike and convert it over to EFI. Runs better, you make your own manifold so you arent paying out the butt, and the ITB's can be had cheap on ebay. Use a MegaSuirt EFI computer and you can tune in a week. I've had dual sidedrafts before. Synching them every few months is a *****, as is intial tuning them. Carbs are "one note" systems, you can only tune sidedrafts for one rpm band. EFI can be run fast, slow, economical, WOT, or put putting on the cruise.

    Just my two cents."

does anyone know anything about doing a conversion like this and/or making your own manifold?

    Re: Bigrick31's Sick New Project

Reverse is a very bad idea. I had it on my yota, and no traction at all, and if you have a lot of lift can even lead to yanking the driveshaft out. I just redid my 4 link to a forward, havent got to test it out yet tho. And no, bags will not be completely straight, but straighter than that .

Hehe well heres is how i get past smog. i left my liscence registered to my parents house and where they live you only have to smog your vehicle if you buy a vehicle not from a family member. they dont have the 4 year law. so either i have my friend put that he is my cousin or i smog it once and never again.
