no I was just curious... My bro has an srt-8 and I would def like to run a typhoon one time...
the srt8 has a lot more HP and quicker 0-60 times....
I was just wondering.. Also for a 30k vehicle 15 yrs ago price is a moot point as it would be about the same if it was built today to the jeep in cost.... I rock a Touareg its a MUCH better vehicle then either one of these anyways LOL....
Peace

as far as Technology the others are not in the same game.......... And as far as price I could almost buy 2 typhoons LOL.....
You're just digging a hole.
When the wifey was looking for an SUV, we test drove the VDub. Ended up buying an RX350. The Dub isn't THAT stellar of an SUV.
Meanwhile, the Typhoon has an EPIC following to this very day, and good examples fetch very good prices.
The Typhoon was capable of accelerating from 0-60 mph in 5.3 seconds and could do a quarter-mile run in 14.1 seconds at 95 mph (153 km/h). Car and Driver was impressed, comparing the Syclone's performance favorably to the Ferrari 348ts, Chevrolet Corvette, and Nissan 300ZX Turbo.
I don't think ANYONE has EVER compared the DUB SUV to a Vette or a Ferrari.

That was the price tag new.
Inflation would put it over the cost of the SRT8.
But regardless, you can't match up a stock version of a truck that was cutting edge back in the early 90's with a truck that is currently on the cutting edge... The changes in technology and materials make it painfully obvious that the Ty/Sy are outdated... but they're still logging excellent prices despite that.
Not a lot of vehicles that are that old are still fetching prices around a 3rd of what they were new.

Cherokee SRT8's are nice, I like them a lot. I bought the Typhoon many years ago, way before the Jeep SRT8 were even thought of so ya comparing them to modern day vehicles is pretty pointless. I wouldn't compare my Trailblazer SS to my Typhoon either, 15 years difference in age can change a lot.
The fact that in '91-93 a V6 pickup/suv beating the crap out of camaro's and mustangs was a pretty crazy idea.
As far as comparing apples to orange, my Typhoon hasn't met a Cherokee SRT8 yet that has gave given me much trouble killing. Then again my Typhoon is far from stock.
