I am seriously thinking of running one SoloX 18" off of two Eclipse DA7232's. I want to compete Meca M5 but don't know if they have anything in Arizona. I could pull off street C in DB Drag. If you know of any events in Arizona, help me out.

Check out USACi at www.caraudioevents.comOriginally Posted by diplexers
Theres always tons of comps in Arizona, and if not Arizona, Vegas, which i dont think is to far from there. If you want to travel, there is a 2x weekend in Northern California on the Sept. 25/26th weekend for USACi, there also may be a show friday night, but its still up for debate.
Just check out that site, and it should set u up. dB Drag isnt to popular in Arizona.
Cottonwood, AZ---7/24
Glendale, AZ---7/25
I guess if u really want to go u can go in 2 weeks lol.
Also if u can, theres a Triple point event in Vegas this weekend. $45 to enter, which for a triple, isnt bad. You should check it out if u like to drive.
Id personaly send more power to the solox, 4kw might get a decent score but more power couldnt hurt.Originally Posted by diplexers

god, 8000 watts on a solox 18"... mmmmmmmmm
4000 watts max.....1000 per channel rms=2000 watts per amp x 2 amps = 4000 wattsOriginally Posted by diplexers

Even with "only" 4kW on that sub, you are going to blow the coil if you abuse that sub like most people I know do.....
Lots of thin wire gives great BL (40+) but not so hot (or actually very hot) for power handling...
Yota made funny!

1 volt = [1(kg)(meter^2)] / [(second^3)(ampere)]
1 watt = 1 joule / second
1 watt = (1 Newton)(meter) / second
1 watt = [1 kg/(second^2)] (meter) / second
simplifying we find:
1 watt = [1(kg)(meter)] / (second ^3)
therefore:
P = (I)(V)
1 watt = (1 volt)(1ampere)
1 watt = ( [1(kg)(meter^2)] / [(second^3)(ampere)] )(1 ampere)
1 watt = [1(kg)(meter^2)] / (second^3)
And that is WHY Power is in the SI units of Watts. enjoy!
Its 2000 max "per channel", two channels, dual mono. I know its the max rating, but that is what I plan on running it at.

Do you plan on plugging in to a nuclear reacture to pull off the MAX rating max means nothing. :thumbsupOriginally Posted by diplexers
No, instead I'm going to plug each amp into 3000 potatoes(series). That should give me the power I need.Originally Posted by tRiGgEr

nuclear reactor vs. potatos....... not much of a difference if you ask me. good thinking

and maybe the potatoes will bake and u can feed everyone at the show.
