    Re: Your db Numbers!

145.3 dB in an unproperly sealed box, uncarpeted, untuned, not all the way up

Vehicle: 1991 Acura Integra GS 2 door hatchback
Subs: 3 JL 10W6s (old school ones, not the V2s)
Amps: (1) SPL 1200 watt, (1) Precision Power Sedona 4X60
    Headunit: Eclipse CD5425

not too bad for a first time, but not long after, I sold the car (kept all the system stuff so maybe, if I'm lucky, it can go in my truck) so it may be a week or two before I can get some updated numbers

    Re: Your db Numbers!

well gang, I got my 4th JL 10W6 now and am looking to buy (in the near future) or get for Christmas another 1200 watt amp to push all 4. I'm adding a JL 15 to the collection as well, but it will be pushed by a much smaller amp.

I'm looking to put this setup in an SUV of some sort. what would be a good, reliable, but cheap, SUV that I could look for? I looked at Explorers and am waiting on some emails on some, but what else?

    2 batteries total, truck on

hell, in my wagon, i lost 5db

i think the best i can do to align any factual numbers with a dbdrag class are as follows....

    Vehicle: 1993 Subaru wagon
Electrical System: Stock Alt/ 1 battery
    Amplifier(s): (2) 9.1's strapped @ .5 nominal
    Subwoofer(s): (2) Kicker 10L7's
    Box: MDF
    Mic: Term Lab
    Song/Tone Played: 57hz
    db Result: 147.5

i set it up to run street B at a dbdrag show in elgin, IL.

they told me to go to mini-street since i wasn't going for points.

own3D the mini 1 class ..... would of placed 2nd for street B at thyat show.

most of my numbers are either at the kick or headrest since i compete in the Meca orginazation.

    1 volt = [1(kg)(meter^2)] / [(second^3)(ampere)]

    1 watt = 1 joule / second
    1 watt = (1 Newton)(meter) / second
    1 watt = [1 kg/(second^2)] (meter) / second

    simplifying we find:

    1 watt = [1(kg)(meter)] / (second ^3)

    therefore:

    P = (I)(V)

    1 watt = (1 volt)(1ampere)
    1 watt = ( [1(kg)(meter^2)] / [(second^3)(ampere)] )(1 ampere)
    1 watt = [1(kg)(meter^2)] / (second^3)

And that is WHY Power is in the SI units of Watts. enjoy!

Now THIS illustrates the difference btwn the TL and the AC! ~8dB difference!
