it looks pretty neat IMO. i wouldnt call ir practical for daily use, but i definitly see no detriment in doing so.
I have done a similar setups to the audiobahn's although I ran tubes with wire running through them, so it appeared solid but I had made collars so they basically "docked" to the subs. I had the advantages of wire but the look of solid conductors.

when you're on layitlow, look up mr hardlines. he does some sick installs, he runs all the wiring through the hardlines to keep the clean look.
