    Test fit:

I thought this was how we (my installer guy and I) were gonna connect these, but installer guy says no. I'll have to wait until I go out to installer guy's house and see what he's got in mind.

why would you think that? you have a dsp, signal goes into dsp then from dsp into amps.

I mean you claim to know programming languages but don't understand very simple I/O ? you do understand that a signal processor takes a signal and processes it? right?

I know that. We've got as whole lot of these purple custom RCA cables. Six 7.5 footers (stereo, front, rear, stereo subwoofer signals but I've only got one subwoofer speaker, will make the subwoofer signal mono in the DSP I think) to come from the HU to the DSP, ther rest for distributing the DSP outputs to the amps.

I think installer guy and I have a little different idea of what to do with the EIGHT outputs from the DSP. We'll get it ironed out soon, like Tues.

May have to order more Y-splitters. I really need 4 pairs to fully enable my smaller amp, the Alpine PDR-V75 amp. Plus I don't know if the physical range between my two amps can be easily and neatly reached with the Y-splitters shown. Yeah I could go out and see, and think I will! Test fit!

not sure of the working of that processor, but to retain fader and sub controls from the head unit I would think you would need 3 long rca's from hu to dsp and 4 short from dsp to amps

The DSP only needs a single L/R full range.

Then why my does my Alpine PXA-H800 DSP have SIX inputs? 4 left/rights, front and rear and two subwoofer inputs? Just like my Alpine CDE-153BT HU has RCA outputs?

    John Kuthe...
They all have a lot of inputs. That's normal. In some cases it takes multiple inputs to build a full signal. Most cases it does not. Normally the front preout is a full range.
Head units are not processors. They have separate preamps.

No, not every RCA input needs input. I'm only using the PDR-V75 4+1 amp as a 2 channel amp, for now. But it should not hurt to provide all RCA inputs on an Alpine device with their corresponding outputs from another Alpine device. You think Alpine engineers are idiots? Or you can second guess them? If so why aren't you working for them?

I just can't wait to control each speaker individually with the Alpine PXA-H800 DSP!! Sound shaping and everything! Expensive Effects!! I was the main progenitor of our band the Cheep Effects!! I understand about effects and plugging stuff together. I'm gonna have fun with this DSP! Plenty of power for me to back it up with too! More than I;ve ever had in any piece of auto audio equipment. I'm excited!

Multiple inputs are there for multiple sources.

You can modify the input configuration to match the output of the source.

If you're getting your signal from a headunit with RCA's you should only need a single pair of full range (L&R) into the DSP.

'some ppl are just STUPID. i am not perfect or know everything. the main reason i called you a moron is due to the fact that YOU yourself have took it upon your self to talk this dudes sub worth up and trying to prove to ppl with it is in fact worth.'

    ...Well said.

One CAN have only a single stereo input from a HU to a DSP, but why then did Alpine design and build a HU with six outputs and a DSP with six inputs? Funny how no one here can answer for me that question.

And in fact, you COULD only have ONE input to a DSP and let the DSP do all the signal splitting, etc. for it's multiple outputs.
