    Re: 2007 Ford Escape Rebuild...

So its been a while since i updated this. So i have started on the sub box. After i get that in i should be able to get going on the rest of the stuff. I am looking at some material to wrap my doors, trying to get as close to matching as possible. Once i get that i should be good on the rest of the build. So here we go with the box progress.

    The wood is all cut.

    The baffle work here.

Even spread of glue and the weight to press it.

The quick mock up of how it looks sideways to show the port.

    More to come tomorrow...

---------- Post added at 05:06 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:06 PM ----------

Alright so i was able to get a little work done with the time i had... So here is the progress on the box.

    Re: 2007 Ford Escape Rebuild...

So i did get a few things done today in the mourning. I did as much as i could before i have to get things ready for my daughters birthday party.

Lets start with the plasti dip work.

    A little before shot...

Even though its my daughters 3rd birthday she still wanted to come and help out. Here we are removing the rims.

Got all wheels dipped and put back on...

And yes i know which tire goes back where.

    The final look...

    Re: 2007 Ford Escape Rebuild...

In between coats i got the wood filler sanded down on the screw holes on the box, (well my daughter did most the sanding). 3yrs old today and still able to put in work. I still had to touch it up but we got it done.

After sanding we had to clean up.

She said the leave blower got heavy so i finished... But we had some fun with it...

    Re: 2007 Ford Escape Rebuild...

So just a small update of the work i got done....

Started with an amp rack and it is going attach to the box...

Here you see that there is a little air space on the bottom to help let them breath a little...

This is a shot of it from the top...

A shot of it put into the truck...

Here you see around the box it is going to be attached to the box surrounding the amps. I am going to have it covered and cut out a portion of it so you could see the AQ of all the amps.

    Re: 2007 Ford Escape Rebuild...

Alright so i decided it was time for me to get these to start playing... So i did just that got this thing playing, i know i still have a lot of work to get done. So on to the pics.

Since i was going to start getting the subs playing i went ahead and opened the other box today and that contained the DC XL. To my surprise i seen a lanyard in there with a sticker. Was pretty excited about that as i was going to be buying a lanyard.

Well i started to get all the wiring done for the subs.

Using these to wire the subs to the correct ohm i need. I had them just laying around so i decided to use them.

Got everything wired up, yes i know they need to get cleaned up. Also the subs in

Just a little disappointment. I had the holes cut out good but i still seemed to have some of the material lift up and peel away.

Got my second battery installed and my be getting another one

Got them charging before i check everything out.

    Re: 2007 Ford Escape Rebuild...

So i will try to get vids up tomorrow. But first i must say this seems a lot louder than my previous setup. They are more vicious and do really get down. Although my overall satisfaction was down a little as i thought i would achieve a hair trick... No big deal there by any means as i do get some movement of hair and a good shirt trick. I am pretty sure it has a lot to do with the box and may play around with different tracks. Aside from hair tricks i am very happen with the setup.
