Day 5: Not working on anything today, but got my free alpha damp today, cant wait to install this stuff but i can't decide if i want to cover both doors fully or cover the outside sheet metal on the doors and cover the trunk lid/package tray/trunk itself.... hmm wait until the sub is installed and see what starts rattle-ling.....????

Day 5 continued:
ok i decided to pull the back of the car out and to start prepping to run my wires tomorrow or saturday, found some more blaupunkt speakers in the back.
The floor has zero sound deadening on it, i dont know if i should stick some on it or try to find some cheap mass loaded vinyl or something to try to keep out some road noise, its bad in the back, give me some suggestions if you have any please!
These spots have some huge holes in them that im thinking need to be filled with some expanding foam or something along that line, because it is next to the wheel well and there is lots of noise through these areas, any ideas on how to stop the noise coming through the big hole in the sheet metal???

day 6/7:
removed almost everthing from the car, running wires the next couple of days, i'll probably run 4 speaker wires to the front for if i go active in the future heres what ive done so far
got this in yesterday, i was pretty happy to see it but then sad when i realized it had two 4ga inputs instead of one 1/0 ga, so now i guess ill have to order a new distribution block and more freaking wire, the expenses keep getting to be more and more.

Day 8/9/10:
welp i finally started to get a little overwhelmed with what i was doing the past few days, there is just so much stuff i still have to do!!
I tried to make a custom plexiglass insert for my bottom insert tray, that didnt work, plexiglass is just too difficult to cut straight, and it cracked so i got pissed and threw it on the ground!
routed the rca cables today and worked on some speaker adapters, going to run just midbass in the back
did this to find the centers

Its been awhile since ive updated this due to a lack of interest and comments on it, i thought i would just keep updating it to have as a log for myself and to show others what could be done with the same car.
While i was away i got some ID oems for midbass ran those for awhile and then just took them out and decided to run active instead. Im now running active on diamond audio hex s600's on a treo 75.4. And i got a pioneer deh 80prs
Old wheel well cover that will not hold a box up
New one that i will cover with carpet and use as my base made of 1/2in birch
Doors were deadened and i am about to create a sheet metal cover for the holes
Tweeters im still pondering on how to mount them because they are so big
Back of car is completely deadened
Now i am going to cover up the holes as soon as i can find some butyl around here

Nice build log. Thanks for sharing.
You are planning to use some CCF as a 'decoupler' on the sheet metal, and attach with more than just butyl, yes?

I would miss it too....
So I'm more productive at night so I covered my wheel well cover today
Looks pretty good in the car. Doesn't match exactly but after my box is done if I have other material I may make it match. I'm going to create some solution to the 4 spots that don't have carpet so that they will be covered.
There were some holes in the trunk for some tabs for the old cover so I utilized these and tapped them and they are now to hold it in place and is an added security feature if someone decided to take my stuff since everything will be mounted to this board. 4 hex bolts hold it in place and I made them so that they sink into the board so they don't catch on anything.

i have two NPT swivel air tool fittings to use as tweeter mounts, but they aren't tight enough to support the weight...
other members added o-rings or other materials to increase friction and allow for fucntional use, explained here: Tweeter Spheres - pics and examples
for the CDT tweeters I used a continuous ring of foam weatherstripping on the inside of the PVC cap to friction fit the tweeter. it holds it well and you don't see any mounting hardware.
have you been helped by me? i'd love to know. shoot me a PM.
