I'd just hate to see all that hard work go for nothing when someone decides to break in because you were advertising it. I've chased people from my car before and been chased by people for my car. It's not fun. I got chased out of Louisville about 6 years ago with the Caprice by some hillbillies in a pickup trying to steal it. They followed me into a parking garage. I parked and left, then the truck left with just one person. You don't pay to get into garage to drop someone off so I was pretty suspicious. I went back to my car bu no one was there. I decided to drive up to the top to see where that guy went. When I got back down, the pickup was parked with both guys in it across the spot I was in. I carefully drove past them and they followed me out. I purposely, and safely, blew a red light to get away from them but they followed. I found my way to I-65 and got on heading south. They followed. I used some pretty aggressive driving techniques, especially for a boat of a car with no rear swaybar at about 85-90 mph. I started losing them at about 85. I didn't slow down until I couldn't see them anymore. It was definitely scary but man am I glad I went back to the car. I would have been stranded in Kentucky with no car, no computer because it was in the trunk, no changes of clothes because they were all in the trunk too, and just plain out pissed off. I didn't have a system in the car at that time either. They just wanted the car. Bumping your system makes it more noticeable to potential theives. Telling that story still gets me worked up. Damn.
