obsidian audio build V2.0

well after metering (145.3 at 48hz) the last box which was 5.4cubes wit 4 4" ports tuned to 33hz. it does good and sounds great also. i just felt like the small box and the ports were holding the obsidians back some and they had more in em :) so i went back to the drawing board and came up wit a design i liked, which is 6.2cubes and 101sqin of port tuned to 35hz. hopin the combo of larger box and larger port gets me a gain on the meter. well here are the pics. none really of the box being built, but pics of it built and then felted.

thanks! dont get me wrong i like the box that i have in there now, i just thnk that the woofers have more in em and that the small box is holding em back. hoping the larger box and bigger port will get me a gain of some sort.

Nice build! Are those 12's or 15's? Im hoping to add another OA 15" soon. Love these subs!

Are you sure that the new box is tuned to 35? That is a very short port and looks to be tuned very very high...like a burp box.

15's i'm sure....box is pretty big for 12's

yea there 15s and yes im sure on box. just went back and rechecked everything. port goes down into box 13.5" and is 7" wide. box is 6.1cubes Net tuned to 38hz. forgot to factor in the 45s i put in so lost a tad of space and raised tunnign a touch, but still in the area i was shooting for. so all is good. if anything having it tuned a tad higher then i originally thought may actually help my score....

Could you PM me the dims on the box and port? Not saying your wrong but I would happy to double check for you. I would hate to see you miss something and then do all the work of swapping just to be disappointed in the result.

i already double checked lol. im sure about the tunning and the cubes. and the box is already in and playin :) and is deffinatly louder then the first box. it dont play ALL my music like the other one, but i knew that goin into this wit this new box being tuned to 38hz. but stil plays into the mid 30hz range wit no probs. but im ok wit that :) but its for sure louder then the other one so i AM happy wit the swap. thanks for the concern tho.
