port
yes the baffle isnt straight, but i was out of wood. a 1/4" trim panel is going over it so itll look all flush when done.

should i put 45s in my port like this? donno if itll do anything soundwise, but it kinda makes it look a little nicer.
if i do, theyll be smaller, that was just a 45 i had laying around and i used it as a reference.

I haven't looked yet, bit is there any space under the HHR's to mount the air tank? Or a smaller one.
not really. i would like to try and mount it under but idk if theres room with the exhaust and my gas tank under there. deff getting a smaller tank, prally a 5 gal. they make the slim ones that will prally fit where i have my 8gal sitting in that picture.
I looked it mine and if you keep the tank the same as the (looks like the fuel pump on drivers side underneath in back) should be good, there is another spot on the passenger side looks like you can have something like a pancake tank fit and have plenty of clearance.
u think i could fit that 8gal tank underneath on the passenger side? or get a smaller airtank?
I would take the tank and just hold it up and see if it would work, just have to use a jack so you could see on how it would look. Worst case is getting a smaller tank.
Close the hatch harder, that's all. Gees! LOL
Nice build so far. I'd love to be involved with a build like this, but there doesn't seem to be much action in New England.
One question though - it was my understanding that the box design was based on the sub's characteristics. Granted, I'm dealing only with sealed and ported enclosures, and have never looked into bandpass designs (other than oooo'ing and aaahhhhh'ing at the shows). Doesn't the sub dictate the sizes of things like ports and the different areas?
So much knowledge, and the more I learn, the more I learn that I didn't know...
im sure it does, but i still dont know what subs im going to run lol. i didnt design the box, i had someone else design it that i know is knowledgeable, so i trust the design.
For the baffle/trim piece that goes over the port, why didn't you just use a router? It would of came out 100% flush. That's how I cut out the port openings on all my boxes.
How much have you spent so far on wood?
3 sheets of birch and lots of 2x4's lol.
with the removable port out, its like 14" x 31", I can fit through it haha
