Whusup everyone. Im installing audio equipment into a 03 Honda Accord that i previously had in a 94 Ford Taurus. I been through 4 cars since 02 and every one had some type of audio work done on them. Heres a quick description of each:
93 Honda Accord:
brought Pioneer HU with the skydiving and underwater, and racecar interface (loved that HU)
3 Pioneer Premier subs in a box
2 amps. one was some Boss amp BS and I 4get the other.
equalizer and a ton of wire
for $600 Long Island, NY
got the HU, Subs, capacitor and an amp installed on stock speakers. amp was a Boss and constantly blew a fuse, i kept a pack of fuses in the car. a while later got some cheap $70 Pioneer rear speakers and i installed them myself. First time i did any audio install. Ive been geeked ever since. wanted to replace door speakers but never knew how to get the door open. But one night I was destined to pick with the amp and capacitor and the + and - wire touch and.... sparks every f**king where! scared s**tless...yr half later, i crashed the car on my Girls/wife (now) High School graduation day...
99 Pontiac Grand Prix back in '04 - '07
Infinity Kappa Perfect 5.1s - $250
Infinity Kapp 6x9s -$150
Infinity Kappa 7520a amp - $250
HU from 93 Honda
My man got the hook up. Got this installed and I dominated everywhere i went. music was soooo crisp and clear... just nasty. I needed the subwoofer to complete the package, but... i waited to long to get and oil change and one day smoke decides to take over the engine bay and the car sat for a year n a half cuz i didnt wanna spend $1000 for a $30 part. plus life changes, had other priorites. car went to the junk for chump change but i **** sure ripped that equipment out. Girlfriend got 03 Honda Accord in '05
94 Ford Taurus Nov'08-summer10
I installed and replaced everything with the infinity products but with a newer Pioneer HU w/ HD Radio and ipod adapter for $100 (bargain if you ask me) but it picked up alot of radio noise. did some investigation and found out I had to take speaker wire and wrap it around the speaker wire outlets. haven't had noise since..... and i finally got the sub! infinity switchable 2 or 8 ohm sub and Alpine 4 ohm amp... i know it doesn't add up . and HD Radio is a*s in my opinion, but my ground was faulty and my install skills were s**tty. i had the front speakers in the doors but the tweeters and X-over's were dangling outside the doors for a couple months. I had nowhere to attach the X-over's in the door. Then i realized i could hide them in floor. PERFECT! but the soldering on the tweets stated coming loose and i magically learned how to solder! got so bad the connection was lost directly at the wire terminal on the tweets. I drive and the tweets be on and off, etc. The rear speakers worked but one of the tweet mounts on the speakers broke off along with the tweet connection. soldering and electric tape didn't cut it. then i got another engine leak. eventually i gave up and sold the car for $500. but i kept the HU, sub and Alpine amp. but sadly, i left the Infinity amp in there... being a good Samaritan i didn't want the guy music-less.
