    Icon14 Enclosure build for: michaellane

    (3) Sundown SA 8" subwoofers. Aero ported, tuned to 36 hertz.

Rabbeted, glued, brad nailed and clamped.

Here are a few pics of my current progress. I should finish up this weekend after the glue dries.

More soon my friend. There isn't much to look at until the subwoofer and port holes are cut, and the edges are flush trimmed and rounded over.

    Re: Enclosure build for: michaellane

It is all rabbeted and brad nailed. Rabbets are along the edge, dados are grooves down the face.

so you're saying that rabbeting is kinda like rounding over the edges?.....btw what how much airspace are you givin them?

    Re: Enclosure build for: michaellane

No, rabbets are grooves along the board's edge giving you two gluing surfaces instead of one. Google it.

    Re: Enclosure build for: michaellane

Oh, lol. The only way you can tell is by looking at how thin the wood is where it is joined. It is 1/2" instead of 3/4" because of the 1/4" rabbet.
