Getting the Tahoe Ready (1/0, Battery, and Amp Rack)

Getting the Tahoe ready to test the prototype (pics of that later)

Took out the front seat and back seat so I could make sure the wire was laid down nice and flat.

To make sure the wire laid flat I just cut away that thick factory carpet.

So there were these brackets which the feet of the seat sit in. So I just cut a small section out and bent it down as I did not want to destroy factory parts.

The path cut all the way to the back.

Where the wire comes into the engine bay from the inside of the car.

Engine bay pics with the wire ran.

Cleaned off the floor of the car to make sure that the tape was able to sick good. Then laid the wire down!!! Oh how I love Kicker wire...

Carpet laid back down, KA POW!! Can't even tell the wire is there...

Under the rear seats the two pieces of carpet overlap so I just cut the one on the bottom and just folded it under.

The 1/0 and Kicker RCA laying down nicely. Made it nice and clean, I hate cutting up the carpet too much and destroying factory brackets/parts.

Swapped out the old batter for a BNIB second gen Odyssey 1500DT. (ty Odyssey for making a GM terminal battery). The battery is double 1/0 grounded to the frame and I will be adding a 1/0 ground from the frame to the alt bracket and also a 1/0 ground from the frame to the chassis of the car as amps will be grounded in the rear of the car to the chassis.

    Battery ***!!!

I made this amp rack a long time ago when I worked at a wood working shop. Fits perfectly but Im going to be cleaning up how it sits under seats around the legs of the seats. Also it sticks out a bit too much so I will be taking some off the sides...

I went and picked it up direct from them when I lived in Southern Cali... After about 4-6 months the side terminals started to go bad (at the point they connect internally, there was a machining mishap so they started to fail on all of the batteries that were sold). At that point I went to my local Odyssey dealer and he just swapped it out no charge for a new one since Odyssey acknowledged that the problem was very very common in the 1500DT's.
